**NEW INSIDE PICS**
If you removed the three screws from the back of the head, if this what you will see:
There are two boards in there, the inner one seems to be a 20mm driver and the outer one contains the three magnetic switching sensors. I didnt pull it up because there were thin cables connecting the magnetic sensors. Soldering looks good with glue protecting from a possible short circuit.
I've never seen these before in any flashlight, so this is like alien tech to me.
It has been like 5 new flashlights in a month, I think I should take a break after this.
Today I received my M2XC4 and my T100C2 from Jay (Flashlightconnection.com), he is a great guy to deal with and everything was fast and smooth, I dont live in the US however I received my light very quickly.
The M2CX4 Cool tint aka "Megalight"
**Unpacking:** I opened the heavy, square cubic box and the first thing i see is TONS of accesories in separated bags, including a 2x18650 tray with the integrated clicky unit, 2x 2-CR123 magazine, 4x streamlight CR123, Spare orings and lanyard, I never had a light that came with so many extras. A++. Then I took out the flashlight which is put inside a generously big and well built holster. Man this flashlight looks special in pics, but in real life it looks even better: like some sort of sci-fi weapon you would expect to see it in the star trek movie. The parallel 2x18650 design could be one of the greatest break-in in flashlight technology.
**Construction and feel:** This flashlight is kinda heavy but not maglite heavy, size is right for the weight and feels good in the hand. The head is very big and mean looking, if you tap 3 TK11 together that would be the size of the M2CX4's head. I wonder what is inside it, probably a big heatsink and a large driving board. It is about 1 inch taller than my TK11.
**Operation:** I love clicky switches. The first thing I did was to disarm the back of the body to install the clicky unit. I noticed that the clicky was actually missing and there is only the rubber, but then I realized that the clicky switch is soldered on top of the extra battery holder tray. It it fixed with 4 philips screws and there is an oring, but somehow i dont feel it watertigh. The fordward clicky doesn't feel as good because it will require a deep press to get the light turned on, unlike my Fenix T lights and my Nitecore Extreme.:thumbsdow
The light is turned on with the selection ring, it feels smooth but doesn't stay "click" in the modes, which I would have liked. As contrary to what another reviewer said, the ring is actually very easy to turn and completly possible to operate with 1 hand.
There are a total of 5 modes, including a not-so-fast strobe. The distance between each mode is pretty nice except the turbo-strobe modes. There is too little "space" to get the turbo mode acvtivated, and ocassionally you will switch from high to strobe, skipping turbo. If they got rid of the strobe mode or put it far away from turbo, the selection ring system would be perfect.
**And the most important; lumens, tint, beam, throw. : **
Low: I'm not a fan of super low modes, so this is a good low. fair 40 lumens.
Medium: well imo this mode is underrated, they say 150 lumens but it is overall same as bright as my Extreme, rated at 220L. :naughty: It is bright enough for most indoor tasks.
High: You will have to excuse me on this one, I dont have any light measuring tool so I have a cheap method to measure output: Tap a P3DQ5 and the TK11R2 both in turbo, do a ceiling bounce and this is almost the same brightness of the eagletac in high mode. 360 lumens sounds right.
Turbo: As I played with all these modes before getting to turbo, my eyes were adapted to brightess and lost sensitivity, so at first, I wasnt impressed overall. Then I took my TK11R2 to compare, the fenix was so dim, I could barely find the spot, like compraring the LD01 with the E01, yes, that much brighter. I turned all flashlights off and took a break, my eyes came back to normal state and tested again: wow, now this is bright, the spot can be seen in the middle of the beam of my WF-1000LP7. The only flashlight i could compare it with is my stanley hid spotlight. 800 lumens? As long as I dont find any other flashlight that can make a brighter 800lumens, this rating is correct.
Tint is white, a little bit more to the cold side, but I like it. No ugly greenish or purple tint. 6000K.
The beam looks really strange and akward from close, has an flowerish shape and lots of imperfections. But once you shine it at more than 5 yards the beam is very nice, sharp spot and even flood. If I hunted less white walls I will notice less cree rings. :naughty: It doesn't have the typical spot-flood beam like other flashlights, but a very sharp spot at the middle and smootly goes to flood.
Throw: how can I describe the throw... great? amazing? super? MONSTROUS! The guys at eagletac werent wrong, the throw is outstanding. Pictures can explain this better.
Each reflector has the size of my TK11 reflector.

Eagletac T100C2 Turbo (Yes it throws better than the TK11)
Stanley HID... It is actually much brighter than that, but the camera wont capture the flood due to super high intensity of the spot.

About the pics, you will wonder if the M2XC4 is just a little bit brighter than my Ultrafire WF-1000L. It is just an "optical illusion" because the camera focuses the larger spot, making it look like if it was brighter. Don't know how to correctly explainh it but in real life the Eagletac is much brighter, just like in the underexposed wall shot. This one is designed for throw, if you want a floody flashlight with a big spot, buy the M2C4 or the M30 Triton.
I am overall happy with this light, it feels well built and durable. Brightness is what you should expect from a quality 3-die flashlight, and there is considerably more new technology in this light than in others of its class, like the selection ring, battery loader, parallel 2x18650 setup, etc. Would rate it 9.5/10 :twothumbs
If you need any other specific shot just request it. I will be also posting another first impression of the T100C2 soon. Hope you have enjoyed my review.
***IMPORTANT***
I just got a answer from eagletac, they were kind enough to clarify my doubt. To my surprise, there is an oring under the selection ring and the system is completly remote so there is no connection between the ring and the inside of the head.
This is how it looks with the ring off:
Good machining and the plastic selection ring has an matte finish giving it more grip.
Size comparison.

EagleTac said:...There is no oring required to seal the selector ring switch, as the brightness is being controlled "wirelessly" from the switch. There is no physical contact between the ring and the body.
There is a 2.0mm thick water sealed oring sitting between the body and the head underneath the selector ring for waterproof. With the upcoming o-ring washer kit, it sealed any possible water leak from the four mounting screws from the upper battery body. It will be a true IPX8 light.
