Hi all,

I'm using a AW 14670 in my new E2L. Everything works just fine but the battery has quite some space to rattle. I would like to tape the top of the battery with some duct tape in order to avoid this rattle but I am not sure if that is a good or rather a stupid idea (I tend to have the latter once in a while).

:welcome:

I wrap tape around batts in some lights that rattle, especially the 6p with primaries, it rattles heaps. I use that thin see through tape and keep wrapping it around till theres no rattle. No ill effects will come, from this i dont think.

Rolled up paper serves the added purpose of having your contact info incase the light is lost or stolen.

However, using 17670 cells would solve the rattle issue, and give significantly longer runtime.

Thanks all for your input,

I thought about the heat issue but the battery doesn't get warm even after more than one hour of continuous use (it's the Cree model with one output level). I also tried a 17670 battery but it was to thick and I don't want to bore my new and pristine E2L, yet......

Marduke: thanks for reminding me of the paper/business card trick!

Slightly OT, but I once lost a digital camera in Boston and actually got it back after a while because I had put my business card in the camera pouch. Eternal thanks to Bob who found it and send it back!
