Textured (orange peel) reflectors - history?

Who invented the textured (orange peel) reflector? When did it come out and which light first came out with the textured reflector?

I've seen antique lights over 50 years old with textured/orange peel reflectors.

I don't remember the brand, but I have seen them.

I'm no flashlight historian, but they've been around for a long time. Faceted reflectors have also been around for quite a while. I remember my first green military-style angle-head light had a faceted reflector.

Does SureFire use textured reflectors across it's whole product line?

Did SureFire use textured reflectors for it's flashlight line since they first came into being?
