Anybody? I have a chance to buy one and I want to know what they are worth, Do they ever sell on here?

Two members to my knowledge, Seery and London_Lad, have each recently acquired a Beast II. Others have them too.

You could easily have done a search and you would have found details.

I am moving this thread to the 'Spotlights & HID' section.

Otay!

I have no idea how much you are getting it for, but if you have enough money to buy one without it hurting your financial situation I think they are perfectly nice lights, but are you getting it for flashoholism or because you have need for a HID light, if you have a need and the cash is there then I would say the Beast is a great light, but there are also other good lights, the Xeray HID lights are top notch, although in plastic and with a more lantern style to them, the Helios is more like the Beast so it really depends on a treat for yourself or a tool you need.

I have to be honest, after seeing what they go for they are pretty steep in my estimation. I am going to find out what this one is going for and make a decision after that. It's a want, not a need and to be honest if I could make a couple hundred dollars after owning it for a while I would probably be ok to sell it. However judging by my need for ever increasing lumens..............

I have never played with a Beast 2, but it would appear from comparisons and beamshots on CPF that lights such as the Polarion PH-40 is brighter AND cost less money. Of course if you are a die-hard Surefire fan, or just have money to burn, then go for the Beast, or get both as they say!

The Polarion is a somewhat different light. The Beast beam pattern is far broader and is intended more for searching for something when you *don't* know where it is and have to look around. Polarion will light up things much further away if you know where to aim.

The Beast is really aimed at very high-end customers who need extremely ruggedness (search for "Beast Toss").

As for "worth" - I can't remember any used Beasts ever coming up for sale here? Everyone has kept theirs I guess. Do investigate Polarion and Xeray unless you're an extreme collector as both are cheaper and do well in shootouts.

Out of any HID I have ever seen, the Beast is the way to go if you expect to abuse your light, the Beast represents a light, that you will probably never have an issue with other than dead bulbs and dead batteries. If you like having something designed to take abuse then it is worth it. (That is my disposition on flash lights and why I buy Surefire) though in terms of output and throw, the Beast can be easily outdone cheaper.
