Re: The CR2 Ion Flashlight - News & Updates

Kiessling has graciously stepped down as he has realized that going by time of posting teststrip was ahead of him & I had mistakenly bumped him up prematurely. My apologies Bernhard & thanks for being a true gentleman! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

So teststrip, you're up & can send payment to Endeavour.

Endeavour, could you kindly refund Kiessling. Sorry for the mess. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Kiessling, refund sent!
Zman, received!

That leaves 83venture and teststrips, and I'll give them until Wednesday to catch up - PMs inbound to you two since you all weren't on the original fifty.

Have a good weekend everyone, I'll update next week as soon as I've got some more news. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: The CR2 Ion Flashlight - News & Updates

Hey Folks,

We're moving right along, the production of prototypes will begin tomorrow, and I'll keep you posted with all the news on that. I'm very excited that all of this is moving now, and am looking forward to getting the parts in. Everything is being done as though it were the full run of parts, meaning, everything is being hard anodized, the reflector electropolished and nickel plated, etc., so everything can be checked and cleared beforehand.

In the next few days I'll be doing the same thing with the new convertor boards and setting everything up for the arrival of the machined parts.

In other news, the brass version has been cancelled.
In it's place, 75 pieces of Aluminum Bronze will be done instead. After seeing some photos of Chop's work, and reports on the properties of the metal, I liked the idea of using that far better than brass. It appears to be a much stronger metal, more resistant to corrosion, and wears far better than what brass does. It's also a very nice looking metal. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The cost of the aluminum bronze version will be slightly higher, likely around $180, than the cost of the listed brass version since it's a far more expensive metal, and harder to machine than aluminum or brass.

The other versions will still be done as noted earlier in the post - HA Black, HA Natural, and about 45 Titanium pieces.

Well, that about covers it for now, I'll keep you posted with any more news and updates.

Take care folks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Edit: Info on Aluminum-Bronze.

Aluminum Bronze--Cool, I still don't have to worry about nicking up the HA.

Instead of Brasso, maybe I should go to the store looking for Aluminum Bronzo. I still might not want to polish the aluminum part of the brass light too much for fear of that memory thingy...you know, that thing with the brain, where you can't remember things so good later on /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
Darn, it's already happened...

Re: The CR2 Ion Flashlight - News & Updates

I've been switching computer platforms (finally going Apple) so I haven't kept up with the updates. Subsequently, I lost my place on the pre-order. Could I please get on the waiting list for a HA Natural if someone else drops out. Thanks.

Re: The CR2 Ion Flashlight - News & Updates

You don't really have to be on a list since this is not a limited run. The pre-pay list is only for those who were able to avail of the cheaper $125 price.
