Cool. Thanks guys. I first searched amazon and saw this one. BT-c3400

BT-C3400 Universal Battery Charger Analyzer Tester for Li-ion NiMH NiCd rechargeable batteries https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NR77SL2/?tag=cpf0b6-20

but this is the one to get, right?

Opus BT - C3100 V2.2 Digital Intelligent 4 Slots LCD Battery Charger Compatible with Li-ion NiCd NiMh Batteries - US Plug (PURPLISH BLUE) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01852TBOU/?tag=cpf0b6-20

Sounds like gearbest might be the way to go, but yes the second link is what I was talking about and should be good.

it's the aerodynamics. and the wide gearing. the faster you go, the more efficient it gets.

actually, how many speeds do you have, 6 or 8? and is it stick or auto?

Just ordered the Opus 3100 v2.2! The only chargers I've used thus far are the Nitecore chargers and they charge the batteries at whatever it feels like charging. With this charger and others alike, when you set the specific charging mA, does it maintain that charging current, or will it fluctuate based on the battery voltage level?

e.g. I put an 18650 in my Nitecore charger and it's down to 3.8v, it will charge it at 750 mA, when it reaches around (let's say 4.16v) it will fluctuate from 75mA-750mA. With this Opus 3100, if I set it at 1000mA, will it maintain that until fully charged? If so, is that harmful for the longevity of the battery?

Also what do you guys suggest for max charging output for 16340/18350? I've read a lot that 1000mA is perfectly fine for 18650's... Where are my battery/charger experts... Wimmer, feel free to PM :poke:

When you have to be up early for work, but always stay up late refreshing the page in case Vinh posts something in "FDT" (as he typically posts there late at night), and don't want Newlumen, OG, Wimmer, MAD, Mike, Ven, liteboy or Alex to beat you to the punch lol... But then the next day at work....

Flash when you stick a cell in the opus it is 0.5a ,you just press the button and it goes up 0.7/1a/1.5a/2a then back to 0.2a and so on,on bays 1+4(others 2 and 3 are limited to 1a).

If I am charging a couple of cells I use bays 1 and 4 at 1.5a, any more together and 1a for 18650's.
16340 and 18350 I use 0.5a on my IMR cells.

A good rule of thumb I read somewhere--whatever the cells rated capacity try to charge at half that---16350/750 mah === 300ma
even if you choose a higher charge rate most cells start to back off around 4.05 volts

Jumping in, this is what I charge at on my Opus:

18650/26650 1000mah

18350 500mah

16340 300mah

10440 200mah

I'm not sure how much science there is to that, but I work on the theory that it will increase battery life to charge them slowly if I have the time. 18650 and 26650 can go much higher if time is an issue. [emoji4]

I generally top up immediately even with minimal usage, however, with the tk75vnq70, minimal usage at 15,000+ lumens= full recharge . Hmm... Maybe I should get two, then charge 2 cells at a time on each at 2A:thinking:

Just have a floating set of matching cells, swap out and charge, use others and repeat/rotate.
