I am new to the forum, working on some moding projects but also looking for my first purchase. I am an electrician at the railroad so I want a edc light with good throw and decent flood as well. Perhaps more focus on throw. I have read hundreds of posts and made huge lists of what lights sound best, the problem is there are WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS!. Im moderately timid to jump on any one that I have picked.
Here is the few that I have narrowed it down to:
-Fenix pd-31
-MG P-Rocket SST-50 Premium
-trust series model II (not so confident on this one)
-EagleTac T20C2 Tactical
-Olight M20S Warrior Premium R5
My stipulations:
-good throw
-bright as possible but I don't want to have to turn it off of high after 30 minutes or risk burning. I want a light that can run constantly in high mode if need be.
-pocket clip
-under 100 dollars
-use 2 x cr123a or 1 x 18650
-approx 5 long will consider slightly longer, approx 1 wide
-3 modes low, med, high. no strobe, sos etc....
-o-ringed
-very durable
Am I on the right track with these options? Are any of them old technology?
I know this question has been asked before but with the xm-l being relatively new out I haven't been able to find any flashlights fitting these criteria using that emitter. I appreciate any input, I have really enjoyed reading this forums for hours each day, even tho my wife hates it!
I know the options are subjective but can someone just tell me what to buy :)
