Quark Preon II

"Hon, is this your flashlight!?"
one cycle in the washing machine, topped off by a run through the dryer.
Still too hot to hold in the hand, but still worked like a charm,

edit:

lol, I have no idea why i keep doing that...it's a Preon II, not a Quark lol two different animals

If only it was a Surefire and not a Quark you could have submitted that story as "a true story" :naughty:

Anyways glad to hear your Preon is doing fine. I'd like to think my Quark could handle the same abuse but then it'd probably make all kinds of noise bouncing around in my dryer.

haha, she said "I thought I heard something clanking around" I'm thinking, hon maybe you could've checked???? On top of that drama I think I lost a Preon 1 to battery leakage, my little Preon is out for repair as we speak

Who else would have left a flashlight in your pocket ?

Most women check through pockets before washing "his" clothes ... All my Wifes did ... They look for signs of infidelity ... I always check my pockets just in case , even though I don't now stray ! ... There is a limit to the number of times that a man can lose "half a house".

Your lady must be a "one in a million" person ... On the other hand perhaps she just doesn't like torches !

Try leaving a $10 bill in a pocket and see if she notices it.

If you actually say that to her you'll probably get:-

"Do your own damn washing then"!

:sssh:

haha, I asked her why she missed it (I'm famous for leaving stuff in the pockets) but they were cargo shorts and the light was in a one of the lower pockets she didn't check

yes, she is one in a million to put up with me

Great story!...... and it reminded me of one of my own. Same scenario but it was my cell phone instead of a flashlight and I was the one doing the laundry....two rinse cycles! I thought I would have to replace it but I removed the front and back cover in an attempt to dry it out and after about three days it was working again and after a few more days the wet screen cleared up as if nothing had happened. Used the phone for over a year after that but the sound finally started to deteriorate and the number 3 key began not working unless it was pressed more than once.

my fenix LOD went through a wash cycle with no problems. at the time i was using the fenix lobster claw clip to keep it on my keys; it must've came off in my shorts' pocket. it ended up at the very bottom. no water leakage at all. still works fine to this day. it didn't get the dryer test though.

maybe the washing machine / dryer combo should be a test for flashlight reviews.

I just washed my car alarm remote by accident last night. I don't know what the voltage of the aged N battery in the thing was, but I was reading under 6 volts when I got home. The newer battery was just under 11 volts and voila, working remote. And no, this did not happen at home. Fortunately, I know how to remove the fuse for the alarm :)

N is 1.5V; that sounds like an A23 or similar, which is literally a roll of button cells. I wonder if water got inside and slowly drained a few while you were out?
