This makes getting a hobby charger...

I have a very similar Mystery brand charger and to be completely honest it's a shot in the dark as to the quality you'll receive. Mine works fine (after taking it apart and adding a proper power cord), but a friend went through 3 before getting one that didn't smoke, crackle or pop(only slightly exaggerated, the first let out the magic smoke in a noisy manner).

The balance charging is off a little. I think the rcr123s I charged the other day ended up at 4.15 and 4.18 (using the lipo program). The bantam I've used will have every cell dead on 4.2 at the end (or 4.1 depending on the program once again).

i am happy with my FMA 4s charger, easy to use, not to costly, great charger :twothumbs

That is cheap for Hobby charger :green:

There are better alternative such as this, cheap better alternative to Mystery.

or This (i use it myself, PC communication via USB, Data logging, Firmware upgradeable for feature and new battery charging method, motor drive function which can be use as CC/CV supply to run your/test vF of your LED, and small (can be carried inside you back pocket).

I know there are more expensive alternative such as Schultze, ICE, TRITON, HYPERION but they are much more expensive for casual use, the iCharge suits my need without spending to much.

I bought an Accucel 8 before I found out about the iChargers. The iChargers are very nice. My Accucel 8 was only $69 and has been great so far.

I have one of those, I think it is excellent.

I have one of those on the way - if it is like the cheaper 6 cells charger then I am sure I will be happy with that too.

Probably the same charger as is sold here.

You might read through some of those reviews, but take anything said on those reviews with a grain of salt. EVERYONE claims to be an expert!

FWIW I have been using a DX Mystery charger for a few months without issues. I am not an expert by any stretch, but based on my own voltage monitoring it is a legit CC/CV. Does not charge past 4.2V, and does not trickle charge upon completion. I only use it with unprotected 65 long cells (both IMR and non-IMR). So I am not sure how its own microprocessor interacts with protection circuits on the cells.

I dont use the discharge feature and I only use it in its simplest form... 1 cell at a time or 2 parallel.

I power it with a Lenovo 16V/4.5A PS.
