those of you who EDCs fixed blades

Check your local laws.....you don't wanna end up with a felony.

Here in Michigan, it is illigal to carry a fixed blade. They have to be folders with a 3" blade or less. Sucks, but oh well.....

+1 to checking laws. In CA, you can only have a concealed fixed blade if it's in a sheath (i.e., you'd have to pull it out and unconceal it, then take it out of the sheath). This is AFAIK and IIRC.

If you just want people not to notice it but still have it unconcealed, you can load up with a bunch of other EDC gear, and it'll just blend in.

cant carry any fixed blade concealed in CA. and not sure how long youd last without getting hassled with it out in the open! :p

in any case, around the house and just for test purposes :) i like it horizontal in the small of my back, or angled to the right (or horizontal) on my left side ~11 oclock for left hand reverse grip and right hand cross draw.

but for concealed carry id much rather carry a fast deploying folder - much easier to draw and doesnt get tangled up on shirts and end to end still almost as fast as a fixed blade. eg waved emerson or spyderco, or something you can flick the blade open.

Correct. You cannot conceal a fixed blade in CA (PC Section 12020), but you may open carry one. Fixed blades, regardless of carry, are not allowed in grade schools, or on a university campus if the blade is over 2.5 inches (PC Section 626.10). Certain cities such as the City of Los Angeles have banned the carry of any knife over 3.0 inches. I EDC my fixed blades within a Kydex drop loop sheath. My shirts typically cover the majority of the sheath.
