What is your opinion on the differences in the two models with the same CREE?
The only real difference I can see is the tail cap, for those of you who have had a chance to handle both what else have you noticed any difference in performance, construction ,run times or electronics.

I'm trying to decide what model to order any input will be appreciated.
Going to order myself an early holiday gift.

Thanks
Lee

If I wanted performance, I would go for the Dereelight DBS, Has more throw then both the A8 and A9 Q5 modules because it has s bigger and deeper reflector and it's easily upgradeable.

The difference between the A9 and A8 Q5(Speaking from what I've read, never handled either light), is the A9 can take 2 RCR123 batteries and is a bit brighter. the A8 is better if you use 18650 batteries.

The above posted by Gunner12 is pretty much dead on. I have both and prefer my Tiablo A9Q5 more than the A8. I like the battery options, bottom line.

The Dereelight DBS is king of throw and will beat out a Tiablo according to every thread in this place by owners. So if you want max throw the DBS will be top dog but the Tiablo A9Q5 is a monster two and you will like it, can't really go wrong either way.

I don't have the DBS, only the Tiablos. I recommend the Tiablo A9 between the Tiablos. If you need the ability to upgrade the DBS is cheaper and easier to upgrade, unless you solder in new emitters yourself in the Tiablo. The DBS does have higher throw numbers, unclear how much, at the cost of a smaller spill area since the DBS reflector is deeper. The next version of the DBS will hopefully have better finish, I'm waiting for the black version myself.

StefanFS I was waiting for you to chime in on this, your reviews and beamshots are great stuff. Keep'em coming and I thought in one of your threads you had already said you bought a DBS ..........but of course you just stated your waiting for the black one so nevermind.
