TITAN Will you be receiving one?

I don't feel likely to get one myself but they are interesting lights. Surefire is the first real flashlight company to figure out what modders have known for a while.

No, I will not. I'm not a chick, and I don't know any chicks to whom I would give a $500 flashlight.

P.S.: It's a joke, people. You can laugh.

I don't have that kind of money available for a single light....however it appears to be worth the price they are asking. I will look forward to reading your review and enjoy it's pleasures vicariously.

I started saving for one the minute they were announced. I could not bring mself to face up to it's price. So I just started putting away 20's in a special TITAN cash box untill it was all there. Now I await an order to send the dough.
I figured that if I were able to snag one and didn't like it I would be able to sell it for a profit.
Since theree are relativly few of them and the are being made from the most premium of components the Titan will allways commend a premium.
That said. I have only sold like 3 flashlights since I started collecting them.
I doubt I would sell the Titan either...
If it ever makes it into my hands.

from what I have heard, there is a non-$500 version of the titan on the way. It will be made of aluminum like the rest of the SF line-up. ONly the first 1,000 Titans are to be made from titanium with the PK signature.
-This is all just what I've read others post, I have absolutely no clue if any of it is true at all.

I thought all the titan's had been sold already. There were listed on CPFMP from January this year where people had bought them. I will admit if there was a 399.00 titan with the size, looks and the adjustable output of the first titan that i would probably eventually bite.

I may be confused on the entire titan situation though, As i never paid much attention to the entire titan light until recently.

I have pretty much ignored the whole thing since i sent my deposit.
I had almost forgotten about it then I was reminded b somthing so I figured I would poke around and see what the exicitement level was/is.
To be honest it doesn't seem all that high.
If there are only 1000 peices I suspect they are all ac counted for and then some. I have a feeling there will be a few disapointed people out here who will NOT get one untill they appear on the secondary market.
Since I love Lanyard carry as a primary carr mode at work I have become rather exicited about getting one.
Oh Boy!!

thats in interesting point - is it?

lets compare with another kind of product that might be made for the same bunch of ppl:
knives handmade by some "master".
--> same silly price, but whoever wants it, will pay it. If the enterprise (master) gets enough requests, even at that price, SURE he will collect that, who would not.

Lucky us, there are "production" lights (knives) around that work nearly as good

Can someone point me in the direction of some details of this light? I had a look at the CPMF but only found the thread on pre orders.

Here is the relevant page from the SF website, giving specs etc. There has been quite a lot of discussion about it here and there, but mostly speculation. The rumour of a cheaper Aluminium version being produced at some stage is just that - a rumour, with no factual basis AFAIK.

I have a Titan on order, and I will use it, rather than putting it on a shelf.

For those who want one but have missed the boat on the Optics HQ pre-order, I suspect it won't be too long after the launch before one or two turn up on B/S/T in the MarketPlace.

Ya know James, this may be one of very, very few lists I'm NOT on!! Good for me, I'm on enough already!!

I much as I would like to have one, the asking price is just too high for my budget.

I figure I can get 3 or 4 good quality lights for the asking price.

Besides, I'd be scared to use a light that cost that much. Imagine dropping it or worse, losing it...

I'm waiting for one from the Optics HQ List, it's been a long wait till now and hope it's available soon.

One problem I have with the light (besides the price) is that it is rather large at 3.15 inches and only uses a CR2 cell. It is as big as a CR123 light.

I would love to have one though. The operation of the light is really fantastic. I look forward to seeing this light.
