I am looking for a filter similar to the one that Fenix has for their smaller flashlights, i know i have come across them before, ones that are made of rubber and fit a range of sizes. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Yeah. Depending on use a filter is to say it a very bad technical solution.
You block all the light that's not at the desired wavelengths and with a relatively cool emitter that is very much when it's red you need.
Consider instead getting a small supplementary light with red output such as Quark RGB or a ZebraLight with red emitter. Much more efficient since the emitter is red. All the energy goes to red light. And more narrow bandwidth too - which of course can be both a pro and a con.
White LEDs are in fact blue with phosphor to convert some of the blue light to other wavelengths. That's why cooler lights have the highest outputs (not means the best visible under all conditions though).
Otherwise a DIY solution is quite easy. Find a store which deals with Plexiglas and order a small piece in the red you want (red is not just red). Cut a circular piece and find a way to attach it to the front of the TK40.
Well I actually found a suitable solution, for me at least. I found a site that sold rifle scope covers. They sold them in a variety of sizes and colors. They had a red one the fits nicely any it flips open so you can user the flashlight unfiltered.
