I covered the solder with black enamel paint, and added an extra spot, so I can call mine the 'COW'...

My wife rolled her eyes, and gave me that 'you're a dork' look, when I tried to explain this to her:crazy: I get that look from her quite often...

At least I had fun making it...:twothumbs

Cree XR-E, FluPIC driver, and AW RCR123A...

Now I can ask her if she wants to use my new reading light, but it'll be in MODE 5, set for 18Hz strobe... :D

I bet that would make a great carry light. I mean I don't know about you but most of what I need a light for is flooding the area with light.

:twothumbs

Did I mention the head on this little floody is a direct couple to the TBSB 18650...and the MMSB...

TB, great job on your little spotted Cow! :twothumbs I`m working on one of your Aleph 2 style Ti heads for a little floody animal(To be named later) but I don`t have a Ti battery tube that small. :sigh: So, mine with no reflector will end up using a 123 size tube but a 17500 cell. Hmmm..... Looks like mine will have......

MORE COW BELL!

:takeit:

Great job TB!

A fine creation with a regionally appropriate name. Maybe you can have a booth at the State Fair?

Shouldn't it have like four batteries like cows have four stomachs or something?

I like how you got the Cree close to the window. The closer the better so the light is not lost in the internals of the head.

I'm Christopher Walken, and what I need is...MORE COWBELL!

Scott, your Cow light really is VERY COOL! :twothumbs So, it looks like a twisty tailcap, correct? What is the length of the light?

Thanks,
Ken

These type of lights really excell with a multi level driver...Ultra low is pretty bright a 3:00am...150 ~ 200 mA is perfect for map reading in the car (not bright enough to annoy/distract the driver) bright enough for the navigator.

Ken, this light is using a RCR123a twisty cell tube, but the head will connect to my TBSB 18650 body, without the need for the adapter...It will also fit Brian/MirageMan's 18650 tube.

I'm not quite finished with this one, I'd like to install a large 'D' ring to the back of the cell tube, so the light can hang in a tent, like a little lantern.
