Two AA led light for work

I currently use a little Streamlight 3N, to keep what I have to carry in my baggage as light as possible, but the batteries can be hard to find. What I'd like is a similar light that takes AAs. My ideal light would be: durable, (between baggage handlers, the TSA and me, my tool bag gets tossed around a lot) take two AA batteries (I use lithium) and lastly a pushbutton on the side is my first choice and on the tailcap is second (no twisters please). Bright is good, but I don't need a 5w light, 1W would be more than enough for what I do and I'd rather have long battery life. I prefer something made in the USA if at all possible. If you have an old Minimag AA (who doesn't) you could drop a Terralux 1W upgrade and a tailcap switch for about $18.00 total. Saves you a few bucks and you get to use an old classic.

I have one and it solid, much better than the Nite Ize.

I just picked up a Fenix L2D and I'm really impressed with it. Though the six levels of brightness is a bit overkill.

I would go for the L2T V2.0 but that might be too expensive to replace if it gets lost.

The WF-606 and 3W Seoul are also good candidates at a lower price. All three are rear clickies. The Ultafire C3 has good battery life on 2 AAs.

Generally speaking, I wouldn't think you would have too much trouble carrying the light with you in your carry on, either in a bag or a pocket. Something like the L2T suggested or even the L2D would fit the bill perfectly, though it may be more than you're wanting to spend. The low level is only about 10 lumens depending on the emitter you choose and will last you something like 60 hours continuously on a single set of batteries. If you need a bit more light the 50 lumen medium setting would still give you a good 12 solid hours runtime. Possibly more in each case since Fenix doesn't specify the mAh rating of the NiMH cells they used to quote the runtimes.
