Received my L1D CE today and most pleased with beam quality
- but I can't seem to be able to move to turbo/strobe...

I turn on with bezel tightened hard left: get the 9/40/80/SOS mode

While in SOS mode I turn bezel clockwise: light returns to 9 lumen mode *(softl;y pressing tail cap then cycles through the 9/40/80/SOS mode again.

Have tried every combination but can't get 90/strobe...

Any clues?

Am going to answer my own question ---- just discovered (via a review
of the L1D by by mclwise that turbo mode needs the head tightened
hard --- did this and got the 90/strobe!

:grin2:

Glad it's workin!

I didnt read thru the instructions completely but I dont believe they were very descriptive on the operation at all.

Hmm. Mine you don't have to turn hard to get turbo. I wonder if you body is a bit shorter than mine? Or just the o-ring is really thicker?

Could be a thread/contact issue.

Took me a while to figure it out too - not as easy as others.

Being the owner of 2 x L1P and 1 x L1DCE I didn't bother to read the instructions either. Its only a torch for **** sake and I'm a flashaholic, I know how they work - or so I thought.

So having read the leaflet a couple of times - then checking and re-checking the actions I got all the modes to work.

I was showing it off later to my father in law and hang on, it does, errr, no, thats not it, err, ah low mode, high, strobe mode, ah its gone off, err, ok thats high, hmm, thats a bit higher, err look the sos is good...

I had been reading the CPF posts about the different modes of the L1D for weeks, but suppose once you have something actually in your hand, your brain kicks out of gear.

The really good thing about the mode operation
(and I don't want to start another "what it should have been list of posts!)
is that if you keep the head turned hard-left, the tailcap jumps straight into turbo
90 lumens every time -- that's what I want!
