U2 mods

Well I think a day later and no response here is a pretty good answer!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I do know of a couple variations as well as a mod to a U2 but given the fact that most of these will not be cracked open and one other consideration, I doubt that the U2 will be mod fodder!

The other consideration that I had in mind is, why? Why modify a U2? Aside from throwing in a X4T Lux5 that you pick up at the check out stand from Wallmart in place of the underachieving 5W the U2 comes with, what improvements are there to make to the U2. I really think that for what it is, it is very true to itself and needs no modification. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

I have wasted some time on it and came to the realization that the U2 not only is what it is but what it is is pretty darn cool! It would be great to be able to drop it out of regulation from the tail so you could have a 2 speed choice of whatever constant current level were chosen at the front end but this is not to be done by dummies like me who have extra resistors. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hey Don,
What is that U2 doing with my Aleph3 bezel on top? Looking good on both ends. The inimitable U2 and the macho Aleph3......... "a fertile union."

So how did you separate the U2's bezel midsection from the selection ring section?

I checked my local Wal-Mart for X4T Lux5 emitters, and the checkout clerk said that they are fresh out but will be getting a shipment any day now! I can't wait!

No one will touch my U2 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ... except to place a Z-bin in there eventually /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crackup.gif ...
