Sorry if this has been done to death, but I searched, and couldn't find...

Does anyone know the average delivery times to the UK from fenixstore and dealextreme?

Just wondering when "impatient" should be upgraded to "concerned"...

Don't know about averages but DX was just under 2 weeks for stuff that they will realy of had avalible. Stuff from TaskLed in the US has been remarkable at just 3 days. I have not had the complication of customs duties yet. Germany and Holland have been about a week if not less. I am just up to a week and waiting for Cutters froim Australia...

Thanks for the info.

I know from experience that it's possible to get stuff from HK to the UK in 3 days (barring customs delays), so I suspect companies laking significantly longer than that don't actually hold stock, but get it in based on customer demand.

from US (fenixstore) about 10 days
from DX 1-2 weeks after it left hongkong.

My latest Fenix was sent out a week ago and is still not here. Seems a little longer than it used to take.

I have noticed that fenix-store have now started to declare the actual value on the customs declaration, not just $10 as before. This could trigger a small customs delay.

I've ordered a couple of bits recently from Fenix-store, the order was split into two so that the bits that were availiable were sent immediately. They arrived after eight days, but I had to go to the Depot to pay a VAT charge on the package. Frustratingly the VAT charge was £6 ($12) and the post office charged a further £8 ($16) handling fee adding a total of $28 to my partial order! :shakehead The second part of my order, a T1, hasn't arrived yet, I'm waiting to see how much that will cost. :faint:

All credit goes to fenix-store for their free shipping offer, I wonder if anybody in the UK has tried a shipping upgrade? and if so did you have to pay VAT? or was it handled differently by whichever courier company was involved?

Has anybody in the UK used the small package forwarding service offered in the Marketplace? any opinions?

Hi,

I'm not from the UK, but I guess it's everywhere the same in europe.
I think it doesn't matter at all what type of delivery service you use
for the question if you have to pay VAT or not. It only depends
on the customs declaration on the package. If the value exceeds a
certain amount of money, then you have to pay VAT + extras for the customs.
(Most often they have a centralized customs center
for all delivery services. In Germany that's Frankfurt for airmail for example)

My experience early this year with two orders from fenix-store was
the small amount package went through, the high amount package with
priority mail and $100 value was the one that caught the interest of the
customs. In the end it was about $100 value + $26 fees/VAT.

I ordered an Ultrafire C3 1/2 AA five mode from DX on 21st January at 17.40, it shipped on Thursday 24th at 2am, and it arrived today (29th) so 8 days, which was far better than the 10 to 17 that they predicted.

The DX tracking is very transparent so you see when they get it in stock, when they pack it and when they ship.

Total price including a holster and shipping was £11.60, and it is just about as bright as my Fenix L2D CE Q5 on high (not Turbo), so I am really amazed by both the service and the flashlight! Okay, it is not of the quality of the Fenix but it is as good if not better than expected, and it was less than 1/3rd of the price.

I was told that there is a strike of post office there in UK, may it's the reason for it, and also the bad weather, ever I met such matters recently, even we sent with EMS, arrived in 12 days, really too bad, but there are something we can not change, :shakehead

Hiya,

Just received a RC-C3 (SKU 6117) from DealExtreme to Liverpool
I paid for it on the 23rd received an order shipped notice on the 26th and it arrived today the 31st. Not bad at all...

Very impressed with the torch as well, it's bright/tiny. I might buy another for the better half, £6.78 including postage(!) can't argue...
