My first time here! so hello!
Ok, I am considering using Ultrafire R1s as a basis for a mountian bike set up. I intend to use 4 Ultrafire R1s, remove the drivers and switch and cable them up via a 1000mA driver (http://www.luxeonstar.com/item.php?id=5168&link_str=240::241::1397&partno=2008B-1000)
Planning on using a Makita drill pack for power.
My main concern is the removal of the driver from the R1. Does anyone have knowledge of how these are constructed? I was hoping the driver is mounted beside the switch, and hence I can remove the whole switch and driver unit. However I have read that the driver is bonded in at the LED end. and that removal is immpossible.
Anyone with knowledge of an R1 plase let me know, I dont want to buy one if it is no use to the project at all!
