Probably a stupid question, but anyone know where I can get a universal charger to go with an Ultrastinger (or at least an Australian voltage charger)? Every one I've seen on ebay just has an American voltage charger, but according to flashlights.com it should be available with a 230 or 240v charger.

If unsuccessful you can try a worldwide travel adapter on a US charger. 230v to 115v.

You need to purchase a 230V AC charger cord. These are readily available from SL dealers or directly from SL.

Keep in mind you will need to purchase the cord for either a standard charger or fast charger depending on which you have.

As an example the 230V AC cord for a fast charger is PN 22664.

You will need to add the appropriate outlet plug adapter.

Added: The same 230 cord might work with either fast or standard charger.

I don't think Streamlight makes a power supply specifically with the Aussie electrical plug and you'll probably need to adapt either the Type G -UK plug or the Type C 2 pin plug that is common on the European continent. I think Streamlight have a 220-240 adapter cord that can be used with chargers, just don't know which plug it uses.

You should also be aware that the Ultra Stinger (and only the Ultra Stinger) requires a higher capacity adapter if you use the Fast Charger with the AC cord. I think that specific adapter is 800 mAh instead of 500.

Insofar as the Streamlight chargers, most of them are universal in the sense that they all run from 12VDC, regardless of whether you use the AC or DC cord. As such, another option that you may want to consider is a mains to 12V DC converter that has an automotive power socket (s), and then just get the Ultra Stinger in the DC version. That way you can use the charger in the car or in the house. And if you use the Fast Charger, you would be able to use the DC cord, rather than a special AC adapter, if your converter delivers adequate current.

If you intent on getting the Streamlight branded AC adapter cord, you might want to contact Streamlight directly to inquire about the 220/240 AC cord, and see if it's available in the higher powered version if you're going to use the Fast Charger. Additionally, you may want to consider some of the online dealers rather than eBay. Some of the online dealers offer better pricing on their sites (even if they sell on eBay.) And dealers like Optics Planet do ship internationally, though their free shipping does not apply to international orders.
