Thought i posted this a few days ago, but the forum must have eaten it..cant find the post now..
I just installed the electronics pill from a Nitecore EX10 into a Brass Carribean.
Full variable ramping from low to high, low/high shortcuts, momentary and lockout function. Added an McR-16s reflector, AR coated lens, gitd oring and
T1 bin High CRI Neutral Seoul. Talk about a PITA trying to convert the nitecore's piston drive system to Peak's momentary switch..but it was worth it.
soldered a spring onto the EX10 electronics package
dropped it into a bored out Carribean head. (added a thin alum spacer around the pill for better electrical/heatsink contact with the head - not shown)
McR-16s, AR lens, gitd oring
Nylon spacer that will press against the EX10 control ring. when the ring
is pushed into the circuit board, commands are sent to the processor.
battery is always in contact with the +spring and momentary tail switch.
pressing the momentary switch pushes the battery forward and into the
nylon spacer. the spacer activates the control ring and turns the light on.
once the light is on, pressing and holding the momentary will ramp up/down
the light. output range is from 5ma to 545 ma to the led.
for those familiar with the EX10, function is exactly the same.
full ramping from high to low.
double press for low shortcut.
double press+hold for high shortcut.
untwist the head some to activate momentary on/off.
unscrew further for lockout.
some more pics
i like to reverse the bezels so the holes arent facing up for a clean look.
you can still open the heads with a toothpick from the side of the bezel.
in need of polish, this light is a user in my edc rotation.
