I've seen a few people complain about the rubber grip on their Rayovac 3C light. Tonight I found a better solution, and at the same place most of you bought yours...Meijer.

Go to the sporting goods aisle with the Tennis rackets. Right by where they have the grip tape, you'll see a rubber over-sleeve for a tennis racket handle. I forget what it's called, but you'll know it when you see it.

You'll have to trim a bit off the end, but when you are done it will fit nice and snug on the light, and it almost sits flush with the wider part (as the part under the rubber sleeve is stepped-down. This gives it a supierior grip without added girth to the handle.

That best part is it's only $2.99. Get two in case you mess one up.

The reason I got it is I was using a c-cell flashlight belt-ring and the old rubber sleeve made it hard to pull out. This works great, and feels better in the hand. It actually looks like it is supposed to be this way.

does that light have a nice white beam or is it bluish/purplish compared to other premim LED's?

Out of curiosity, what else has anyone else used for a different type of grip on this light?

Another option: I cut off the grip mentioned above and went to the local sports authority store and bought a 3 pack of tennis racket overgrip tape. The feel was even better, and it looks better too. $5.00 will usually get you a package with 2 or 3 rolls of the tape, in case you mess up.

I was going to suggest that if you can fit something under it to wedge it up slightly (which should be possible if the grip's made of rubber and is loose enough to slide around), just left up the edge and put a small drop of superglue as far as you can up under it. Go about 60-90 degrees around the light and repeat. Once you've gone all the way around that end, do the same thing at the other end. I suppose there might still be a touch of flexibility in the middle but it will keep the grip from spinning around at least.
