I just received my Olight Seeker 2 Pro.
As soon as I got it I turned it on and 3 of the 4 battery lights came on.
Then I read the manual and it said to charge it fully before using.
Did I do any damage to the light?
Why do you need to charge it before using?

Thanks all

They probably say that as a precaution so people don't completely discharge their batteries causing explosions.

Pretty sure It's against law to ship Lithium rechargeable batteries fully charged.

You're light will be fine. I imagine they say that so that you can get the full capability of the light when you first use it, and to account for any discrepancies in battery charge state due to shipping or storage.
Enjoy your new light!

Probably, but that doesn't answer my question.

Your question that I was answering was why did you have to charge it. Answer is because it is damn near dead. Kinda like why you fill your gas tank up for a trip if your on empty. They can't send a fully charged cell through the mail so there telling you to charge it up. And as others have said your light is fine.

Basically it is best to charge a new battery for several hours for the first use in order to provide best lifespan over time.
That's always been the case since rechargeables were invented.

Some send it dang near discharged so that you will.

OK, last question.
When I turn the light on, the indicator LED's on each side of the button come on, then go out after a second or 2.
Is this what they're supposed to do, or are the supposed to stay on?
Thanks

Mine go off after nearly ten seconds, so yep that's normal

Y'know that little booklet that came with your light, the manual...it actually covers that. But yes, it is supposed to do that. So you can see the battery charge state every time you use it.

Unless I'm blind, it doesn't cover that.
It just shows what the indicator lights are, not how long they stay on.
