Water resistance of the Inova T4?

Has anybody had any experience with this?

From what I can tell on mine, the only possible entry point for water would be the charging port.

I've got a firm seal of waterproof grease on the tailcap threads, so I don't think I would have to worry about it there.

It's unfortunate, but the Inova T4 is not very water resistant. The charging port is the weak point. There is no seal there to keep water from entering. Customer service told me the light should survive a quick splash in a puddle. I love my T4-MP but I also think a light of this caliber should be a little more water resistant.

Also Inova customer service informed me that their warranty will not cover water damage.

Thanks.

Yeah, that worries me a bit because there are going to be times where I'm gonna have to use my T4 out in the rain.

I believe in the rain you may be OK. You definitely do not want to dunk the light. I placed mine in 4 inches of water and you can start detecting a little bubble after around 30-45 seconds, so in the rain again you may be OK, especially if the light is vertical.

The Inova site mentions that the T1, T2, T3, and T5 are water resistant. However, it says nothing about the T4. Someone should check whether any water resistance claims are made on the packaging. But as it has been said already, rain should probably be not be a problem.

No, it is not designed to be water resistant, Just take a short lenght of inner tube and slip it over the body of the light. It is flexible enough to not interfere with the operation of the switch, and if you have charged replacement batteries available, then you can run through numerous battery cycles before needing to pull the tube off for recharging again. :)
