This is a question for a whole new thread. It may help to explain your usage of the firearm as this can dramatically influence the tool selection.

Not too many choices, TLR-2 and X400 I think are the only LED options out there.

The mount on the TLR-2 attaches at any rail position while the X-series lights need to be installed at the start of the rail then slid to the required rail position. However, you can purchase a Larue QD mount that allows the X-series lights to be easily positioned onto any rail position but it adds some height to light/laster. Both the TLR-2 and the X400 have remote tape switch tailcaps, but only the SF has a rail mounted tape switch that has a pushbutton constant and the temp on pressure pad, XT07...might not be too much use if you are going to be using the broom handle grip.

Another option is the unimax laser, http://www.lasermax.com/product.php?id=127, not one piece but still might be work a look.

Surefire X400

Strongest, most dependable weapon light. IF you want it for a pistol.

I wouldn't recommend this for a rifle. For a rifle I would go with setup that uses a laser separate from a light.

I have the TLR-2 and really like it!
Swap lux III for a Seoul and you'll like it even more.

Well, I really think it depends on how you'll be using it Mac but for most purposes a one piece will be just fine especially considering that you'll have limited rail space on the MSAR. I'm putting an X400 on one of my AR's but I like the TRL-2 also and think it's a better value. I'm now using a 2 piece on my FAL as it gives me more range.

I have one 6" Rail :) so my options are definetly limited though I really like that dual light mount from Larue Tactical, funny things is I never heard of Larue until last week when my buddy needed an AR gas block we searched the web for a Lo-Pro stlye block and ended up with the LaeRue :)

I'm glad that you found them! The Larue dual mount is on my 16" FAL and I would rate it as "el primo" quality. Pretty hard to go wrong with any of the dedicated weapon light componentry discussed in your thread though. :)
