What 1x18650 lights are available with a warm tint (5A, 5B, or 5C)?

I missed my chance at a L-mini II, but I already salvaged me some unprotected laptop cells, so I'm wondering what my options are.

Edit: I'm becoming more aware of the options available to me if I'm willing to go the P60 route. Dereelight and Malkoff both offer warm tinted dropins that will work on a 1x18650 host. Any other notable dropins that I should know about?

couple options: Jetbeam Pro III M. Jetbeam RRT2.

(even if you choose to go the drop in direction)

Only reference to tint bin I can find for the Jetbeams is WG. Are Jetbeams available with 5A, 5B, or 5C tints?

Just get a Malkoff M60W MC-E.

That would certainly be a nice dropin, but I'm not sold on going the P60 host route yet.

If I do go that route, should I get the MD2 and just accept the fact that Malkoff dropins are the only dropins I can use or should I get a host that accepts all (most?) P60 dropins like the solarforce L2 or dereelight CL1H?

Decisions, decisions...:shakehead

Nope, go for the best host available in the market: The SureFire C3-HA. Or if you want to run the regular M60W or M30W, then just get the C2.

Thanks for the tip! I just found a "JETBeam Jet-III M Q3-5A". It's a little larger than I had in mind and uses a twisty interface (acceptable, but not optimal) but it' the best thing so far that's in stock. Are there 3-mode programmable JetBeam III's with warm emitters? That would be almost perfect!

Edit: I also found the Zebralight H60w on that same site. I was planning on putting the Zebralight 501w on my Xmas/birthday list (I'm hard to shop for, apparently, so my wife just asks me to make a list for her to pick from), but perhaps the 18650 version would be better in the long run. Hmmm.....

Hehe, I totally forgot about the H60W, and I own one! :ohgeez:

It is an awesome light, and I use it all the time. However, it is a little large and you'll look like a dork wearing it. I couldn't resist the brightness and runtime you get from an 18650, though. I still haven't depleted one battery yet, and I've used it multiple times while working on my car, as well as to navigate the house at night, and blind a few fellow CPFers on a couple of park walks. :D I don't think you'll regret it, it's a wonderful light.

Yeah, there is the Jetbeam Jet III M warm tint and ZebraLight H60W. I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

I think Eagletac might have an option or two.

I've gone the P60 route (Solarforce L2s) and will be making my own Q3-5C P60 drop-in when the parts get here.

EDIT: Don't give up on the L-Mini II. There should be more of them coming.

I want to thank all of you for your wonderful and helpful replies. I'll keep digging into this and I'll post anything interesting that I come across for discussion.

I don't think I'll get the H60w simply because part of the appeal of the Zebralights to me is the tiny size of the H501w. The H60 is just too big.

Similarly, the JetBeam III M is larger than I'd like which, coupled with the twisty operation, makes me hesitant to buy. If they release a JetBeam III PRO ST with a warm emitter, they'll probably get my $$$.

The MG L-mini II or the MG PLI (which Shiningbeam says he might offer with a warm emitter in a later run) seem ideal since they're reasonably sized for what they are, don't require 2 hands to operate, have friendly over-discharge protection, and can start at Low. The only strike against them in my mind is that you can't turn the memory function off...you have to remember to cycle back to low when you finish using them (almost perfect...oh well).

If I decide to go the P60 route, there are a couple of tempting options. The MD2 with M60WLF is appealing, except that the mode switching is twisty and it can't take anything but Malkoff dropins (which are pricey, but not really limiting unless I decide I want to build my own dropins).

A more generic P60 host (Solarforce? Dereelight? Bored out Surefire?) would let me run Malkoff dropins along with the wide variety of P60 dropins available. It seems inevitable that I'll eventually dig into this world once I get my shop set up and have the time and desire to mix and match drivers, emitters, reflectors, and hosts, but it isn't compelling to me yet. I'm still a Noob that wants to experience other people's toys before I settle down to build "The Perfect Flashlight".

Too bad LiteFlux doesn't make an 18650 programmable. I'm really pleased with the LF2XT I bought for my wife.

Oh well, it's time for bed. Good night, CPF. Thanks again!

I was pretty much in the same boat. FWIW, I decided to buy an 1x18650 FiveMega body (plus a SF head and tailcap) from Nite in this thread and a 68mm extension tube from him in this thread. Now I can get in on "SF lego" and mix-and-match a variety of drop-ins for either 1x (3.7V) or 2x 18650 (7.4V)...

Me too, but that hasn't stopped me from ordering a bunch of lights to try out... the warnings about this forum being addicting were spot on! (I was just thinking how lucky I was that I joined CPF in time to get in on the Ti Quark pre-order! :))

I bought an LF2XT and just got an LF3XT because I liked how I could customize the "Full" UI... I have both of mine set to be super-low with one-click (mode 1) and then go to 50% on double-click (mode 2). That's it's -- I have modes 3/4/5 turned off. I can go to 100% with a push-and-hold when needed from either mode. Very slick... and if I accidentally activate it during pocket carry, it comes on at minimum brightness and auto-shuts off in 3 minutes. (I will say that I do prefer the neutral tint of the LF2XT over the cool tint of the LF3XT.)
