I have my 6P with a P60L LED SureFire drop - in located in a little stash area just under the steering wheel. Works great and does stay in that area nicely.

PinarelloOnly,

What model frame is that? I am still riding a Pinarello Treviso that I bought brand new in about 1983 and have replaced the gruppos on several times since then...

I have a couple of Western Case #41 accessory pouches with belt clips that work great for a Scorpion or G2 with a folding knife on the side, but Western apparently doesn't make this particular case any more:

I just added a Camillus Rescue Heat rescue knife to it, and the extra weight drags it down a little, so I would need to add a bit of velcro to keep it in place. I'm converting over to Fenix P2Ds, which swim in this case, so I'll need another solution for them.

It's got a velcro strap across the top, which would help keep the light in place in an accident, rollover, whatever. This location is perfect for me in my Volvo C70, and I can get it out quickly without changing position much, but it may be too far down for some people.

Some cars have deep enough door pockets that a case like this can clip on there, which makes them even more accessible. I started with it under the steering wheel column, but my knee would hit it when I got in and out.

oh yea, between the legs, i normally put in on the outside of my right thigh, too many times where i have forgotten my cell phone/knife/flashlight between my legs, and i get out of the car and then DROP there goes the finish on my cellphone.

I keep my 9P and SC1 in a softsided cooler with my emergancy water. The water acts as a heat sink. The light and batteries stay under 100 °F in the summer stored like this.

Great idea there Kelmo!

That's a cool set up. I have a similar set up but on a different location on a car, a more accessible place when just In case i'm involved in head on collision.

Yeah, that's what I like about a clip pouch - there are a variety of places you can put them in most cars, depending on where you can reach easily.

If there's not a good spot, the clip is good for sticking velcro to if you degrease it first, and that gives more flexibility. Some velcro stickum loosens up in the heat, so removing the clip and stitching the velcro to the nylon might hold better long term.

Either one can be removed later without much more than discoloration or light scratches, usually in an inobvious location.

Good idea ! Maybe Surefire can market some type of "Tacticool Cooler" :poke::shakehead:duh2::ohgeez:

If my 6P isn't in the "leg" pocket of my carpenter jeans, then it's just lying on the bench seat next to me in my truck. Tried the between the legs technique and wound up forgetting it was there and when I got out it went crashing to the concrete! :ohgeez:Now there's a pretty good ding in the bezel and some road rash on the tailcap.

Might have to look into getting some of those "Quick Fists" they look pretty cool.
