What brand lights are these Marine's using

Mind you, the header for that photo is "military technology in action."

Unfortunate, really. There are some very good lights out there that could serve that purpose better. Too bad the Marines' are underfunded.

I would agree, that was probably a group purchase...

Thinking back to the series "Generation Kill," and that real-life unit's adventures with their unpowered night vision goggles, it's good to know that those guys in the picture actually have batteries to run their headlamps with. Unless they were given them for purposes of the photo and then had to hand them back in.

Which would make them police, come to think of it.

My son's Army unit wasn't issued any lights when they spent 14 months in Iraq. He just got back from Afghanistan (12 months). This time they were issued energizer hard case head lamps and angle head lights. They also were issued light sticks made by laserbrite.

Here's my son's Army-issued Petzl headlamp - Iraq, 2006 (4th ID)

Some AP photographers have amazing gear. He's probably using a $4000 lens on a $8000 camera to take pictures of men doing work with $10 headlamps.

You couldn't have put it more bluntly, although, the photographer most likely has several more of those $4,000 lenses and a few more of those $8,000+ camera bodies with him... plus a satellite phone including the requisite satellite datalink...

There shouldn't be fighting in this world anymore I was once told by a WWII veteran...

Oh hell, not the Fulton angle heads?
