What can I do about Stinger?

It has the third battery in it and it is about gone.

I really have little use for incan now, but the Stinger is a very nice size and feel.

So what can I do besides buying yet ANOTHER battery? (Which I'd likely take to be rebuilt with NimH and change the way the light gets charged similar to what I did with my Magcharger)

I'm in the same position and still like the size and feel of my Stinger. Like you my battery is now shot and I've been contemplating throwing the light out. However, I have a use for a rechargeable light that would or could be used for general duties without the cost or primary cells. I understand that Terralux do a LED replacement module for the incandescent Stinger which puts out approximately 220 lumens and spreads the run time out to about two hours. Although I've not got it yet I'm certainly tempted as the cost of a new battery and module are about the same as a Fenix T11 (without the rechargeable cell or charger). If anyone has any experience of this setup and wants to chip in I'd be grateful.:thumbsup:

I've bought a couple of these

They are NIMH (3.6v) and they say you can use the original charger ( I have). So far they have worked ok for me.
Might try the Terralux next.

I've bought "made in china" cells on Ebay. They worked fine.

I also bought the Terralux drop in. It does not fit the polystinger as the head is different from the stinger - that was where I wanted it to go. Then I tried to fit it in an old stinger XT - I could get it in enough to "light it up", but not to be able to put the head back on.

I did buy a stinger that someone had modded with a LED - works great - I can try and find the thread if you want - or you can search posts by me in B/S/T or custom B/S/T and look for one that references the stinger. I looked for it but could not find it.

I haven't found batteries any cheaper than this. I bought an Ultrastinger battery and it works as good as the original.
