What happened to my Dexlight X.1?

I switched batteries like usual and now it wont turn on. I'm not too great at LED electonics, i'm still new to it all. I use 14500 Cells. I did accidently put the batteries in the wrong way but i've done it before and didn't have a problem. what should i do from here? any help is appreciated thank you.

Just a guess, but you may have fried the driver. Most drivers don't have reverse polarity protection. The previous times you did it, it may have been slightly damaging the driver each time until it finally gave.

A couple of things to try first:

1. Put in a AA battery or other batteries.
2. Short the battery to the rear of the tube, just to make sure it isn't the tailcap that went out.

The dexlight was advertised as protected against reverse polarity, and an AA does not work in the light
