What is the current brightest/cheap 1xRCR123A light?

For the past 6 months or so I have been busy playing with my own drivers matched with Cree LED's. Now I am in the mood for a new light, I need something small (QIII or smaller) for EDC. I am thinking something that uses 1xRCR123A and hopefull very bright... oh and I dont want to spend more than about $30.

You should be kicked off CPF for a cheap stunt like that. Seems your signature link sells quite the light you're talking about.

I am looking for something along the lines of Cree XR-E or SSC P4 with 1W/3W output. Actually a clip would be nice to so I can clip it to my hat like I did with the QIII.

The light in my site is not the best/cheapest by far!!! Notice that it is not even for sale anymore and it is a very old design 1.5+ years. Long ago when it was a new design that was my ideal light but now it is not even as bright as a 1 Watt CR-E (thus the reason I am looking for something new)... I dont know why you are so angry but please dont post stuff like this in my threads.

The $12 light from DX or KD has been recommended quite often along with $15 one. Both these lights have give out insane light on the rechargeable RCR123 but the runtime is less than an hour.

I have the $12 one and it destroys your night vision completely if you turn it on inside the house. You can not even glance at the light obliquely, it is that powerful.

That is exactly the type of thing I was looking for if only it had 2 modes (1 super bright, 1 normal)... but your comments do make it seem very nice to me! Any beamshots of the $12 one?

How does those lights compare in brightness to a Fenix P1D-CE?

There is a review of the $12 light compared against a 2xCR123 light and it even beat that one.

Here is the review of it including beam shots. Everybody who bought it had been really impressed with the brightness but be aware that the quality is commensurate with its price!

Same problem here, its been that way for the past few days for me.

That sucks they're under a DDOS attack. I hope that's all it is though - it figures the day after I place an order I can't get in to their website!!

The site was working fine for me this morning so I took the chance to order 2 lights from them... I ordered the $20 HAIII Ultrafire mentioned earlier as well as a cheap $2.50 1 Watt light for some mods. When I get the Ultrafire I will post a mini review on it here at CPF.
