Hello all am new here! I am looking to buy a new torch soon, partly for my security job, and also for leisure. I am undecided on what would be the best one to choose.
I want something that's mega bright and lasts at least an hour and is rechargeable without having to take the batteries out preferably. I want a HID one or an LED one if it's extra special like a Lenser X21, but I would consider the style of torch like the one in this link as it's a good price and very bright: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAMP-TORCH-HI...rnsTorches?hash=item3a58d44064#ht_5475wt_1168
However I would prefer something maglite style, but NOT a maglite lol. I have noticed a torch came out recently called a Olite SR90 intimidator. That would fit the bill perfectly as it's almost HID bright (2200 lumens) and has the added convenience of a LED which is more durable and less to go wrong. Has anyone got one of these? They came out in January apparently.
Also I have seen these HID torches in maglite style with 3500 lumens of power and are made by companies like Oracle and some other copies, it's a chinese made torch I am assuming, and I have seen a few videos of them in action on youtube. So what can anyone else recommend for me? Something dazzlingly bright that would spot a thief half a mile away that's rechargeable is my main requirement lol. Next priority would be a maglite style one. Should I go for HID or LED? I don't know about the reliability of HID so maybe someone could help! All help appreciated. Kieran
