Where do you buy the POB at? I have heard Sams club for very cheap is this true?. Does anyone no the price ? Are there any other places that sell it cheap? I wouldn't mind modding one.

Sam's club ran out a long time ago (so I am told).
I found a few websites that advertised them, but when contacted,
they where out of stock and not expecting any more.

They are getting hard to find.
FleaBay or the marketplace is your best bet.

If you find one, get a 4200k HID bulb (quick mod if you have the right
Tri-wing screwdriver).
Make sure the bulb you get is the short version.
Most of the bulbs you see on FleaBay are the long ones (several mm's
longer) and it throws off the focus.

There have been a few auctioned on ebay recently, but they have sold for over $100. I don't see them going down in price.

Alternatively, you might want to consider the Stanley HID, which you may be able to get at walmart. If not, amazon has it.

I agree. It's hard to find a POB for under $100 these days, and they are
not the hottest ticket in town anymore anyway.
If you could pick one up for $40, good deal, for $100, you can do better.

I was considering getting one, but I didn't wan't to spend $100 bucks on a spotlight that I had no practical use for (other than to satisfy my brightness needs...). I ended up getting the stanley at a Walmart near me. While it probably doesn't have the throw of the POB (I would expect the POB beam quality is probably better too), it is apparently much lighter, and quite easy to hold. I can't really see an 8+ pound light with a top mounted handle (like the POB) being all that easy to actually use. The stanley is surprisingly easy to hold with its pistol grip.

I own both the Stanley HID and POB. The Stanley surprisingly appears to equal the POB in throw and is just as bright! :) The only beam differences are that the POB has a smaller and slightly brighter hotspot, and a lighter blue beam color than the Stanley. The Stanley also has a wider corona and spill than the POB which is very useful within the 200 yard range.

I personally prefer the Stanley for its form factor.

I thought about getting the Stanley HID but I have a LNIB AE Xenide 25W on the way.I no I will be more happy when I get the AE because Ive never played with or seen a HID flashlight in person. So ill probably get the POB or Stanley next it will be more exciting that way.
