Which converter? 3.3Vf Cree with 3.7V Li-Ion battery

I am building a Cree bike light but I need some help with choosing which converter to use.

The P4 cree has a Vf of 3.3 to 3.9. The battery pack I would like to use is 3.7V Li-Ion. I know that I could run two Cree's for a higher total Vf and then choose a boost converter, but I would like to keep this as small as possible.

I already have a Fatman for another dual Cree bikelight.

Personally, no, I don't have experience with the GD. But as I understand, the GD500 comes pre-set for 500mA output. If you look at the GD-blank instead...

...here you'll see a link for a resistor calculator, pricing for each resistor, and a fixed charge of $3 to solder those resistors.
