I need a cheap, but decent host that is easy to open and mod for a Cree UV XR-E mod.
So far the only one I can see working might be:

Some of the cr2/2xaa ones look too long and I'm unsure if the driver will work well with 2.4v NiMH which is what I will be using. The one I linked above is straight 2xAA so that's good. It says 650ma, but I'm unsure if that is measured at the emitter or tail cap...
Does anyone know if that one is easy to open up and modify? Looks as if it might be the kind where the stuff is put into the front of the head and held in with a press fit plastic lens...
