Thanks everyone.

After the suggestions for malkoff, I went and looked, and most of their stuff is sold out. Is that normal?

Ill have to look into some some of the other suggestions.

It goes in and out of stock. MD2 currently in stock. Sign up for emails and get a 20% off coupon if you like.

" I've had switches break (both mechanical and electronic). Switches obviously can't be potted, so they're more fragile than you'd think. Look for lights with recessed switches that are protected by metal around them."

True. I had one wear out, but still worked. The clicky would not engage, but if I pressed down and held, the light still came on. The switch Malkoff uses is cheap and extremely easy to replace yourself if needed. He sells the parts on his site. Not sure about some of the overseas made lights. I have some pretty old 6P rotary switches that still seem as good as new. they are momentary on with twist for constant, so either way, Malkoff clicky or Surefire 6P rotary, I think you would have a very reliable and serviceable light.
