And what are your thoughts and experiences?
I was looking to pick up a KX1 head to put on my E1e because its cheaper than buying an entire E1L. Can you guys tell me if it will have a two stage high/low output like an E1L would? And will the lumens be 45/3? Or will it just have one output of an unknown number of lumens?

thanks for the help!

E1e, E1L, Winelight I, E1B uses the same body, all parts are interchangeable

E2L, E2e, Winelight II, L4, E2D, E2DL are basically the same body, all parts are interchangeable

6P, 6PD, D2, C2, M2, G2 works the same, but for different uses. Basically a 2xCR123A P60 style light

G3, 9P, D3, C3, works the same, but for different uses. Basically a 3xcr123a P60 style light

other than the resulting inconsistency in the wording you should see no difference, which is one of those things that I never forgave surefire for, same product, different names, different costs

To answer your question, yes you will still get the two stage operation. Unlike the L1 and LX2 which you have, the circuitry in the bezel of the KX1 or E1L is what controls the mode switching.

Sweet! thanks bro! Now off to the marketplace to buy a kx1!!
lovecpf

What's the serial number on it? The first year in production (2007), the E1L's/KX1's were single stage, 45 lumens. If it's a low S/N (<1,000???), then it's a good chance of being a single stage version. Other than that, it should be two stage. The S/N on my KX1 is 00408, and it's single stage.

Hope this helps.

Not sure man, They are for sale in the cpf marketplace now by Bigboy. but it looks like the one pictured the s/n is like 31000 somethin...
Also he stated that one out of the lot has an "A" before the s/n as apposed to the others all have the letter "B" and i think this is the difference between single and dual output. He said he tested a couple of the B's and they were indeed dual output.
