Just curious ,I like using the 14500s They make the light plenty bright, much better than NIMH batts. But will they damage the led with pro -longed use?Too much voltage for it maybe?Anyone have any experiences with using them?

Pretty sure they will work fine, I've been running RCR123 in a P2D body/L1D head, it gets hot but it sure is bright!!!

I never had problem with it. Have done at least 30 cycles running ultrafire 14500 without any problem BUT: it gets hot pretty fast, you have to hold your light in your hand to dissipate the heat or you might permentaly lower the output.

Also, only two modes are available running 14500, strobe and max output.

I have been running mine on a 14500 since I got it. One day I decided to put in an Energizer Lithium L91 so show a friend. The L1D did not light up so I tried another 1.5v batt and that did not work either. So now my L1D ce only works with the 14500.

Thats very interesting  I have both bodies(L1D, L2D) and run the single cell set-up with a 14500, and the 2-cell body with Nimh rechargables. My head works fine on either set-up...but like previously mentioned I have only high/strobe with the sigle 14500. The advantage to the single cell set-up is obviously size, and I also pick up ~20 more lumens out the front.

What's the run-time one a L1D on Turbo using the 14500 vs a disposable Energizer Lithium cell? Do the 14500s last longer?

Do they make a AAA rechargeable for a LOD CE? I'm going to go broke buying lithium disposables all the time with the shorter run times...

what is the runtimes for 14500 in turbo or high mode? I read in another thread that aw 14500 will not fit, can this be confirmed.. If it is, then I will have to get ultrafire 14500's..

-----No, the runtime is less than with an alkaline

------Yes, you can have some 10440, AW sells some. You will then have a pocket wall of light. My guess is around 130 lumens. I think it is the best size/brightness ratio available with any flashlight
