I have been wondering and looking for information on whether or not one of the new Wolf Eyes Storm Q5 Cree's were as bright or brighter than a Surefire M6. I purchased the new Storm and tested it against my M6 and for any who would like to know my M6 is brighter than my Storm which is rated at 760 lumens. I will try to get beam shots if anyone wants them. The Storm produces a much whiter light and makes the M6 look yellowish but the M6 clearly reaches out further with its light.

Anyway just fyi, Cankster.

Doesn't surprise me that the M6 throws farther. Bigger reflector. How about total light output? A ceiling bounce test would give you a better idea.
The Storm is rated lumens at the emitter whereas the M6 is out the front. I'd guess they're around the same output in lumens but my money would still be on the M6.
Now if we compare runtime and cost I'd put my money on (into) the Storm.

I Agree - results will be interesting!

How would I execute a ceiling bounce test?

In your room, alternate shining each light on the roof at approximately the same spot and compare the relative brightness of the objects (or one specific object) around you. The objects will be lit by the light reflected off of the roof.

This brightness comparison method roughly takes into account the total output of the light and not just throw.

I do have a SF M6 CB too and I'm going to buy a WE Storm Q5 with Mike.
When I have both on my hands I'll shoot many beamshots and compare them in trow, flood and reach.
But I'd die to see beamshots of the Storm Q5 now !!!
Could anyone provide them ???
Thanks...

Any picture so far? I have SF M6 and 10X. I am very interested in getting the Storm but still couldn't be able to find any comparison pictures in the forum:-(

Hi Alan,

is it maybe now for you possible to make a conclusion betwen M6 and the Storm?

cya

I didn't see comparison picture with M6 and Storm in above link. Nonetheless, I already got Storm last week but I just found out I don't have 6 pcs of new 123A for my M6 for comparison:-(
