I copied this picture a while ago thinking I might give this a try. Does anyone know how to wrap the grip like this so it stays put? Maybe the OP will see it and tell us.

Anyway, I think it looks cool and would provide a better, non-slip grip.

I've done something similar on the Inova XO3 type lights.

I think I know what that is, it has a loop for your middle 2 fingers and you use the light as a kabuton, I know how to do it, but I suck with words, so I'll try to find a tutorial.

I use tennis grip wrap, since my hands have a tendency to sweat a lot. If you would like me to post a pic then let me know.

Well im going to post the pic anyway.....you can get it at Kmart, Wal-mart, or any sporting goods where they sell tennis stuff, and the good thing is it will only set you back a couple of bones. They also make different colors as well.

yankeefist, very good reference. I intend to give it a try.

n4zov, thanks... there's lots of good stuff on this website.

alfreddajero, I've use this tape before and it works well.

I appreciate your help, guys. Thanks! :D

It works well.....my hands tend to sweat a lot, especially at the rc track, and yes i have dropped my radio.....thank god it was an older model.......

There are all sorts of different kinds of grip wraps you can use, but I think a more elegant solution would be a tool handle coating.

You can take the light apart and tape off the ends and threads of the tube (and whatever other area you don't want the coating on) and give it a dip. Dip twice or more for a thicker coating:

Also check Super Grip, another interesting alternative:

If you want an even grippier grip, here's one that comes with grit in it.

Great topic, latly I've been looking for more grip on my L1D. I'm wondering wouldn't the paracord slide on a light like the L1D?

I remember that picture and something about a Leef body, so I did some searching. The original poster was "Dave." (I think the period is part of the username). Here's the original thread. I would suggest a PM to him.

Neat ideas, especially those on Stormdranes site. But the best way to hold on to any light is with a wrist lanyard or a neck lanyard.

None of my lights have ever hit the ground while attached to a lanyard:D
