Your opinion please!

I know this section is mostly about high end HID and such lights. But I was wondering if anybody could help with a question. I have a streamlight Super Tac and was wondering if a Jetbeam II IBS was any better for throw? I was also looking at a Olight M20 also. I just want a massive thrower in a smaller package preferably under 7-8 in. Any thoughts would be wonderful. Thanks

More throw means larger reflector or a lot more output. The Super Tac has a much larger reflector then the other lights you mentioned at a bit less output so neither one of those lights will throw similar to the Super Tac.

You might want to take a look at the Dereelight DBS. It's one of the premier LED compact throwers which still utilizes a conventional reflector.

The smaller package you mention leaves room for one or two small (but high-end) HID lights - notably the Jil Eznite 10W. Take a look at this thread started by Patriot36, which compares the Eznite with an Aspheric by Mac and other contenders, including the DBS he mentions in post #3 above.
