Only poll I've been in where my vote is the first vote. Picked the H501, based on my experience with the H50. Might have to try the 501 someday.

I have the H501. That's what I chose. I carry my EDC toys in my wallet, on my keychain and in my pockets, so they have to be small. The H501 is small and thin enough to be clipped to shirt pockets. The H30 is too fat. The H60 is too long. The H501 uses AA battery which is widely available.

Assuming that I have the ability to recharge 18650 batteries, I prefer my H60 as it has the widest range of brightness levels.

However, if I were to travel outside the country regularly and did not have the ability to recharge, I would go with the H50 or H501 because they use a universal AA battery that is available most anywhere. Since I typically use my zebralights at a rather low level of brightness, I still might pick the H60 and simply plan to carry a few spare batteries on my trip.

Not necessarily my choice, but why is the H50 not in the list? Was H590 a typo?

I think "H590" means "h50".
I voted for the h501, because its really small and you never know if you might need the strobe mode.
Its also more efficient and runs on standard batteries even though you can also use LiIons if you feel so.

I have a H50, two H30's and the H60. I saw a H501 this weekend with the warm emitter which was very nice. For me I'd go with the H60. I love the 18650 power source, wide range of outputs, simple UI, etc.

 hmmm... I'm still thinking. I don't like to have to lock-out my EDC as it's inconvenient. The H501 is too easily activated, but the H30 uses CR123A which I'm OK with but would prefer AA when it does the job. The H30 may still be too easy to activate for EDC, but the twist to lockout my H501 is very very small and once twisted the clicky would be more convient for EDC than the H50 twisty. The H60 high output helps since the lights are all flood.

I guess that's why I have them all, they're all great!

If I really had to choose just one for EDC, then I think it's H50 or H501, I'll sleep on it.

for me, the lockout "problem" is none. If you plan to use your light often, just use the pocketclip and the button shoul be out of the way. That way you will quickly notice if the lamp is accidently turned on.

At the moment i am thinking about how to add a pocketclip to my zipka-style headband. That would be the perfect edc to me...

poll is closed so i need to answer this way ..

my vote goes to h501.

AA battery for all occasions, available all over the world. and it wins the h50 just because i like the clicky as the one handed operation is key factor. also it does have easy UI (and strobe if one needs it) -only minus on my sample is that flashlight is too loose for the GloInDar sleeve. i need to wedge it with something to hold its position. but i normally use the pocketclip anyways so i really dont mind.

h50 twisty that i tried i needed 2 hands to turn it on.. too fiddly of a thing to do with my mitts. second place due the AA battery.

h30 is too small for me to hold in my hands (plus the battery type is harder to get and pricier)

h60 the battery impossible to get in middle of nowhere, and also i think its too heavy for headlamp. for this size and weight i prefer handheld flashlight instead.

^ Your post makes a lot of sense. I have pretty much decided to go with a warm 501 when they are available. I may even opt for the 60 as well to get free shipping and use it for a BOB option. It is a shame that so many users are experiencing problems with the holders. Seems that a simple manufacturing adjustment would cure the issues. Now to sneak a question in hopes that a resident techy will answer. How much will the performance (output) and run time differ using 14500 v.s. Eneloop? I have a ConneXion that currently utilizes my sole 14500 and am trying to hold off on additional battery purchases till $ goes ^...

I went with the H501w (I'm not sure I would be able to tell the tint difference vs. regular if they weren't side by side)

I don't know if you are still interested in the answer but you can check my runtime tests. In short, I don't see much of a reason to use LiIons in H501.

^ Thanks. I've got an odd man out Eneloop left over from my Red Cross disaster radio that is just looking to be of service ;)... I'll keep the 14500 in the ConneXion.
