Googled but I was unable to find an answer as to whether or not the MBT-1 can successfully test Li-Ion 10440 cells. It seems to work fine with other 3.6V Li-Ion cells, like RCR123A, 18650, and 14500's. Any other CPF members with first hand knowledge of this tester and using it on 10440 cells?

Thanks in advance!

I did email ZTS and they responded with (paraphrasing here):

"You are using the correct testing terminal (3.6V Li-Ion), but the battery may be a bit small for the particular load test. The tester is set up for larger capacity cells. Still, you should test more than 40% fresh off charge. If these are new batteries, you should cycle them at least three times to condition them for full capacity. Also, be sure the charger terminals are clean as well as those of the batteries and tester. You may be able to develop a relative test for those batteries which will indicate the state of charge. For example, 60% result may be a full charge and 20% a half charge."

Kudos to [email protected] for a very quick reply to my email! I had sent them a short email asking if the MBT-1 could be used to test 10440 Li-Ion cells that have a stated 500 mAh capacity and read 4.1V fresh off the charger.
