Well after being completely satisfied with my L1P froe several months,
I bought one for my wife for Christmas. Today I stated to her it was
about time to fire up her light and switch the AAA Riverrock with the
L1P as her purse light. Fired her up, low and behold a brown spot almost
dead center of the beam. The light was brighter then mine which
sports a slight greenish tint , but that brown spot is not good. Anyone
else recieved one like this? I'm seriously considering asking for a replacement.

At about 6 inches and closer I have a dark spot in the middle of my beam, square in shape. It disappears farther away though...

I doubt this is what you're talking about, just thought I'd mention it.

Its kind of like a dark half moon shape, i've tried to get good
beam shots of it but it don't show up well with my camara.
Like I stated earlier its really brighter and whiter then my
L1P but that artifact.............Litemania is in Korea so it
would be a hassle all away around, but 45 bucks. I emailed
them and I'll wait and see what he says.

Looking closly at the reflector it looks like a small bubble or burr
on one side. Dirt or other crap maybe ?? Id have to somehow take the reflector apart to examine it which would more then likely ruin my chances of them letting me exchange it.

mine does that too, but if you take a look at the emmiter being used, it too is square, so the spot is probably something from the reflector, it's a square hole in the beam, right?

I had a similar problem in where a bubble formed under the dome, then it started to lift off altogether! I was able to get a replacement from LITE Mania, so best thing would be to contact him...

Luxeons can get bubbles under the dome. There's actually a silcone gel under the glass hemisphere. I'm not sure exactly how the bubbles happen. It's probably a manufacturing defect. I've still got a Lux with a bubble in it. It's not heavily used (probably because it's got an ugly artifact) but still working fine after eight months.
