I need a diversion but do not know the internet very well. What other non flashaholic forums or sites do you go to? Links too please.

I visit www.hondapilot.org quite a lot... of course, I own a Pilot.
I like forums.cigarweekly.com too... yep, I smoke cigars.
Both forums are well run and mostly made up of a great bunch of folks.

bladeforums
knifeforums
jerzeedevil
microholics (rarely)

I used to frequent a few gaming sites under the same name, but not for a couple years (amazonbasin, lurkerslounge, diabloii, ionstorm, gamespy).

I'm also registered on a few gun forums (glocktalk, parkcitiestactical, hkpro), but haven't frequented those in quite a while either.

I frequent these places everyday:

www.thehighroad.org
www.thefiringline.com
www.armedpolitesociety.com
www.bladeforums.com
www.candlepowerforums.com
www.sigforum.com (only lurk)

I frequent these places every two or three days, and only lurk at these places:

www.umgf.com
www.acousticguitarforum.com
www.pianostreet.com
www.golfrewind.com
www.wikipedia.org (not a forum, but I check there frequently to make sure that the articles I have interest in aren't hijacked, and are readable and accurate)

Visit (lurk) two to four times per month:

www.cyclingforums.com

These are the forums which I like the most.

Reading CPF takes up all my time. Only forum I visit regularly.
I also frequent Slashdot, Arstechnica, and OSNews, but do not post.

This is really it. I lurk around the forums on snopes, but thats it. I don't want to spend all day just looking at different forums when I have homework I sould be doing. In fact, I better go start on it now!

Thanks everyone. I'll give the suggestions a peek over the next week.

I decided to wait 24 hours after posting the question. So meanwhile I opened up Google and typed "movies forum". Google gave me 24 million sites! I looked at the 1st few but they had few posts and fewer replies. Not like CPF at all. I think I'll stay with rottentomatoes.com and tribute.ca for my movie info. imdb and amazon isn't bad for the older movies either.

www.ar15.com Lots of gun stuff, mostly AR15s (of course) and AK copies. (I've seen a couple others there as well.)

www.howardforums.com A cell phone forum.

www.bladeforums.com Knives obviously, but not all that frequently.

www.pieuniverse.com Has some forums for guns, tactical gear, computers and games, but is primarily um, somewhat adult oriented - BOTD.

www.military.com Military discussions

www.tippmann.com/forum The forum by Tippmann pneumatics a paintball gun maker.

http://forum.americasarmy.com/index.php The forum or America's Army. The video game put out by the US Army.

www.patientsforum.com People who have or had parotidectomys, removal of the parotid gland, usually because of tumors cancerous and non.

http://www.sarcomaalliance.com Dedicated to the various types of sarcomas, a rare form of cancer. The type I had which necessitated the parotidectomy.

I don't visit these all daily. A couple most every day, the rest maybe once a week, or even longer. My interests also seem to go in cycles. I'll get really interested in something for a while, then lose interest for a couple months then get back into it.
I also visit a couple of forums for Guild Wars occasionally, and AMDzone.
