I just bought a new USB keydrive with a transparent body and the tiny surface-mount LED is quite bright. Blue seems to be all the rage these days too for drive indicators of all kinds.
I bet someone's already working on a light the size of a wooden match with 3 of these LED's in the head! Or an entire circuit board with several dozen of these arrayed side by side in the space of a square centimeter.
I wonder how hard you can push these little bits without cooking them? It's enough to give you a headache in a dim room as it is.
