Had my light engine out of my L1P and ole' butterfingers (me) squeezed it too hard while holding on to it and it popped out of my fingers like a watermelon seed and crashed onto the concrete floor.

Funny thing is, it still works, but it has a funky ring in the beam while wall hunting. Can't notice it in normal use. It was a RV1 bin that I picked for color.
Good thing I have a spare RV1 to swap with it.

Been there, done that. I had assembled a flashlight and had a heatsink fall from the desk to the floor and land on the LED.Argggg, the LED still works though.

My boss dropped a Streamlight Stylus down an elevator shaft. It cracked the LED. It still worked, but the focus was messed up enough to make it pretty well useless. So he let me have it.

It was before loose 5mm white LEDs were easily attainable and the 1 Watt Luxeon was new. I have been meaning to try to make a Luxeon Stylus out of it, but never have.
