What kind of a "flashlight" can be used to start a campfire combined with a 5" magnifying glass?

Is it even possible, cuz you would need a looonnnng runtime?

You can carry two fine pieces of copper wire and a minimag, stick them in the holes for the bulb and short them, creating a spark to light some belly button lint.. that's an old SAR trick a buddy of mine shows off from time to time..

Try fine steel wool and Ni-Mh batteries. You'll probably need some very dry tinder as well like what I was using for my "drill" fire starter. :grin2:
