Why has noone refinished their HDS EDC light?

I think that polished aluminum is now a bit out of favor since it scratches when you look at it sideways. Unusual treatments are usually reserved for custom makers trademark lights or very cheap hosts like mags.
Personally, I like the my HDS the way it is.
