replace TYOL with a cree?

Hey, just a question for the modders out there. Back when I first found CPF, I purchesed a mad modded with a TYOL on heatsink with a nflex driver. I was wondering if I can (or if it's even worth) replacing it with a cree. Thanks in advance

Its definitely worth it, but you have to be sure if the reflector works well with the Cree. I've read mixed reports about the Cree working in Mags. I believe the stock reflective reflector will have artifacts while a heavily stippled one won't.

A better bet would be to get the Seoul Semiconductor P4 LED (uses the Cree die), which is something like a Cree Q3 bin. The Seoul apparently has a better beam dispersion pattern that is closer to a luxeon. Photonfanatic is selling them in one of his threads.
